We are a community, and like any community, we have guidelines to ensure everyone feels safe, respected, and supported.

Eldora's Refuge is an independent living community. We are not a licensed medical facility. We do not provide memory care, nursing care, or supervision for individuals who cannot function independently. Residents must be capable of attending to their own daily needs, including:
- Personal hygiene and dressing
- Managing their own medications
- Preparing or obtaining their own meals
- Moving about the home safely without supervision
If a resident requires daily medical monitoring, hands-on care, or supervision due to cognitive or physical limitations, Eldora's Refuge is not the appropriate placement. We encourage partners and families to seek licensed care facilities for veterans with those needs.
Who We Serve
- Veterans of the United States Armed Forces (honorable or general under honorable conditions preferred)
- Able to live independently as described above
- Seeking a stable, communal living environment
- Willing to be a positive member of the home
What We Expect
- Respect for other residents and shared spaces
- Basic contribution to communal upkeep (light chores)
- Open communication with house management
- Adherence to a substance-free environment*
