Born from Service.
Rooted in Family.
Eldora's Refuge carries the name of our founder's grandmother, Eldora. Her home was a Sunday gathering place where good food and open hearts brought the family together. It was there we learned that community is built around a table.
The "Refuge" comes from a career in the United States Marine Corps. Our founder served as an enlisted Marine, then as an officer, led basic training and a college ROTC program. This experience revealed a truth: the transition from service to civilian life can be lonely, and too many veterans face it alone.
The Problem We Saw
A gap between service and stability, right here in our own city.
Across America, and right here in Montgomery, veterans who served honorably find themselves without stable housing. They often become isolated, disconnected from the benefits they've earned, and invisible to the communities they once protected.
Our Solution
Eldora's Refuge bridges the gap between service and stability. We provide a home where veterans are valued, connected to resources, and welcomed into a new community. We honor their past service by investing in their future.
